Californians for a Higher Education Contract (CHEC2012)
Supporting UC, CSU and Community College Students & Families
You can change how our colleges and universities are managed and restore the dream of a financially attainable college degree for all Californians. Please act NOW!
Most Californians agree that the financial stress being placed on students and their families to absorb skyrocketing tuition and fee hikes by the UC Regents, CSU Trustees and Community College Districts are unsustainable. Politicians, bureaucrats, and administrators are all posturing about how to address California’s burgeoning higher education budget crisis in the November presidential elections. Every legislative proposal and ballot initiative introduced thus far address only the revenue side of the equation. Even if one of these legislative or ballot initiatives passes, UC Regents and CSU Trustees will still be free to continue to increase tuition and fees unchecked. The system of higher education which was originally designed to serve the needs of California residents is in danger of being destroyed. No one is looking out for or speaking up for the financial interests of students and their families…. UNTIL NOW!
CHEC2012 is committed to protecting the interests of current and future California college students and their families. None of the other measures ask college administrators to control expenses and make it possible for students to graduate and receive their degrees within acceptable time limits.
There is hope in sight for students. You can join CHEC2012 in supporting a California Constitutional Amendment Ballot Initiative authored by recent UCI grad Christopher Campbell. CHEC2012 needs volunteers and donations to facilitate the petition phase of this important initiative so it can be placed on the ballot for the November 2012 election. Our volunteer base is growing daily as citizens have found a voice and renewed sense of hope. You too can make a difference. Contact us now to tell us your feelings or to volunteer for the CHEC2012 campaign.
